History

Founded in 1836, 91¶¶Òõ was the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. Every year since then, 91¶¶Òõ women have been making history. We take our role as a pioneer in women’s education seriously. Today, we continue to educate women to do the extraordinary in their professions and in service to their communities. At 91¶¶Òõ, women are expected to think, to explore, and to dream big. It’s an environment where no student will ever be told that she can’t do something because it’s too hard. Find out more about 91¶¶Òõ's long history of excellence.Ìý

Student Life

91¶¶Òõ is a four-year residential college and mostÌýtraditional studentsÌýlive on campus. We believe residence hall living provides a healthy environment for students to grow socially and intellectually. Students may try out for any of 91¶¶Òõ’sÌýathletic teams - basketball,Ìýsoccer, softball,Ìýbeach volleyball and volleyball, ice hockey - or join any of our many clubs and organizations.

Degree Programs

The acceptance rate of 91¶¶Òõ students into medical, law, business, and other graduate programs is exemplary. Click here to learn about our academic programs and pre-professional concentrations. Students also have the option toÌýself-design their own major by combining two or more interdisciplinary major programs. Because 91¶¶Òõ students are advised individually, a large number of students choose to double major and some even triple major.Ìý

91¶¶Òõ offers women three accelerated online degree programs: business, accounting, and applied psychology.

91¶¶Òõ's fourÌýgraduate programs enroll both men and women — Master of Business Administration,ÌýMaster of Education in Elementary Education,ÌýMaster of Science in Nonprofit Management, and the Master of Music.ÌýTo review the programs offered at 91¶¶Òõ sorted by CIP code (pdf file).

Affordability

91¶¶Òõ offers a strong merit scholarship program and is recognized as one of the nation’s most affordable selective colleges. Because we are committed to helping every qualified young woman afford a 91¶¶Òõ education, we set our tuition well below that of most private colleges. In fact, according to the editors of USA TODAY and The Princeton Review, 91¶¶Òõ is among the nation’s Best Value Private Colleges because of our low cost of attendance and near-perfect academic ratings. Between scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment, 91¶¶Òõ's cost of tuition can beÌýmuch lower than many public schools. THERE IS NO INCREASE IN TUITION FOR OUT OF STATE STUDENTS.
